Lunch: Lettuce wraps with leftover chickpea, sweet potato and chard, 1/4 of a muffin, Lemon-lime soda water
The muffin was in the break room left over from a training. I didn't have the will power to say no despite it being almost certainly preservative-laden. It was the tastiest muffin EVER. I REGRET NOTHING. But in all seriousness, I shall use this to regroup.
The lemon lime soda water was a touch of genius, let me just say. I bought some soda water knowing that I would be craving the hell out of some soda (I am, by the way. Every time I see a diet pepsi or diet coke, I twitch a little. This is probably a bad sign about diet sodas but there you have it). I tried raspberries in soda water yesterday but it didn't work that well. Next time I will muddle them and smash some of the deliciousness out of them but lemon lime worked really well.
Snacks: Pumpkin seeds, fruit leather, ginger cookie, puffed corn thing
Dinner: Poached egg over roasted asparagus with miso sauce
The dinner was pretty darned good. I had to improvise on the miso sauce because the one that was with the recipe did not taste so good when it was actually made. I thought it turned out mighty fine.
Victories:
- Girl at work has a big ol cauldron of candy out. I walked by and grabbed one (as I always do) then went "Ah! Ack! Processed as hell!" when I actually thought about it, so stashed it in my desk drawer for a rainy non-Unprocessed October-day.
- At Safeway to get a snack. Spotted pumpkin cheesecake cookies by Pepperidge Farm. Now this was a crisis indeed. This sounds like literally the most delicious thing of all time, and it is clearly a seasonal item. By the time October Unprocessed is over, I won't be able to get them and I'll have missed out on trying them. So I bought them. And haven't eaten one. And won't eat one. Until November. And because they're chock full of the preservatives I'm trying to avoid, they will be just fine in November. ;) Gross/Yum.
Defeats:
- Muffin. Damn you muffin.
Unrelated to food, unprocessed or otherwise... Watched Sons of Anarchy. I'm a season behind so don't spoil it. But as always happens when I watch that show, I dreamed about it all night. I swear that show is like Maxim for women. So many beautiful men. And all that mythic "bad boy with a good heart". Phew.
Back to business:
TOTALS:
Breakfast: 2/3
Lunch: 3/4
Snack: 4/4
Dinner: 3/3
Score: 12/14= 86% (And I've already forgotten what yesterday's was but I believe this is better)
